I was born and raised in Yorkshire, England. I knew from a very young age that I wanted to go to art college and follow an artistic path. I studied Spatial Design that focused on creating functional and aesthetically pleasing spaces followed by two years of Museum & Exhibition Design.
I moved to the USA in 1996. When our children were small I painted murals and created fun, bright environments in homes and businesses.
I was hired as a Paint & Sip instructor at a studio in Texas In 2012. I later owned a similar studio in Calvert County, Maryland. Since moving here to Williamsburg, Virginia I have been teaching art to all ages from my home studio and teaching kindergarten art at a local private school. My Art with Jane business keeps expanding. I offer private classes and commissioned work. I enjoy working with other artists, it breaks patterns and helps introduce new techniques that fuel creative growth.
I use coffee, tea, beer and wine to create my art as well as incorporating teabags and coffee beans. I’m currently showcasing my creations through pop-up galleries at coffee/ tea shops, wineries and breweries.
Within the last year I have been collaging with greetings cards. Bright cheery colors and glitter particularly found in Christmas cards provides a wide range of textural elements.
